Speaking at this year's FIRE show, Fire Minister Phil Woo[as said how the public at large were proud of the Fire and Rescue Service and went on to outline that more lives were saved by the Resilience team than were killed in the London bombings

He then outlined three main themes: terrorism, demographic and natural disasters, examining the impact of each aspect in recent events and also with a view to the future.

With regard to diversity, risk may spread he said, as four million homes will be built by 2021. "We must ensure we have decent homes", Mr Woolas said and he also referred to Pakistan's depth of gratitude to the UK's 'great' Fire and Rescue Service, in reference to the recent earthquake (see next issue for interview with UKFSSART). …
