Jim's legacy.

Thanks to the generosity of a former firefighter, the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund has recently received a legacy of nearly 1 million [pounds sterling]. Francis William Mead (known as 'Jim') passed away in March 2005, aged 86. 'Jim' (pictured here, with his late wife Elsie) had previously been a beneficiary of the FSNBF, and his gratitude was ultimately expressed by him leaving his entire estate to the charity upon his death. The charity's kind benefactor virtually guarantees that the FSNBF will be able to help a significantly greater number of people during the next few years, and so his generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of hundreds, and perhaps thousands more serving and retired Fire Service personnel and their families. …
