Learning & development strategy consultation.

The consultation document which outlines the future priorities for F&RS training over the next ten years was launched by the FSC and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) on the 14 July, at a national seminar in London. The launch involved keynote speakers from the Chief Fire Officers' Association and the Local Government Association.

Mark Mason, Head of the College Policy Unit, said: "The aim of the draft National F&RS Learning & Development Strategy for England is to support modernisation, in particular the shift of emphasis from a largely reactive emergency response service, to a highly effective F&RS with equal emphasis on safety, prevention and fire reduction. …
