THREE YEARS ON, THE 11M [pounds sterling] contract with the South East Consortium is running to schedule and budget. The Kit

The specification of the new equipment was drawn up after a detailed risk assessment and consultation with firefighters, union representatives and experts in the field.

Richard Bond, Chair of the South East Consortium (SEPPEC), commented: "From the outset, the working group which consisted of practitioners, legal and procurement representatives from each service as well as local and regional FBU representatives, agreed that the best possible level of protection available in the marketplace had to be secured within the budget available. …
