FACE up to the problem of arson.(News)

Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service has launched a new scheme to reduce the number of young people playing with fire. The FACE (Fire Awareness Child Education) scheme is a multi-agency approach to the problem of arson amongst children, aged five to 12 years. The launch was held on June 21 at the Holiday Inn, Sandy, Beds with representatives from many of the agencies involved.

Opening the Launch, Chief Fire Officer Paul Fuller said: "Many children play with fire out of curiosity or attention seeking. But without intervention this may be the start of a downward spiral into arson and other anti-social behaviour. By working with other agencies our FACE team will support the families and help to educate the children about the consequences of fire. …
