Residential homes benefit from life-saving sprinkler systems.(News)

Providing maximum fire protection without sacrificing comfort and design has been achieved thanks to the installation of life-saving sprinkler systems in two new nursing homes, says Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Thanks to valuable input from Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Tenterden's West View and West Brook House in Margate have been built to incorporate sprinklers--allowing designers a conceptual, open plan and user-friendly approach to construction.

The sprinkler system concept was suggested by Kent Fire and Rescue Service during the planning phase for the two centres--both joint Kent County Council and health authority ventures. Designs for the buildings were also required to incorporate adequate means of escape for the residents in the event of fire. …
