Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has started to outsource its basic driver training in order to focus on its driver's specialist needs to operate an increasingly diverse range of emergency and support fire and rescue service vehicles.

This new initiative has been launched in response to a review of the training and development needs of fire and rescue service drivers, and is one which will allow the Service's Driver Training Department to increase its range of specialist courses and range of qualifications available.

Two local companies, Zenith Driver Training of Fareham and By-Pass Driver Training of Eastleigh are working in partnership with HFRS to develop and deliver intensive driver training courses. …
