July 1930: 75.(Looking back)

* The July 1930 edition of FIRE opens with an article entitled "Plain Facts About CTC. " The author simply calls himself (or herself) One Who Uses It. The anonymous author sings the praises of CTC as a firefighting tool. The article notes: 'I have never heard of anyone losing his life or suffering any serious injury by being subjected to carbon-tetra-chloride fumes' 'It has been said that CTC should carry a health warning, I have seen no similar warning for other tasteless and colourless substances, for example carbon monoxide'.

* In the recent examinations for membership of the IFE-19 candidates--from the 48 who sat the examination, were successful. Of the 105 candidates who sat the graduate examination, 63 were successful. …
