Sprinkler gives residents extra peace of mind.(News)

Residents of a development of new homes in Wayfield, Chatham, can sleep safer at night knowing that they have the extra protection of a sprinkler system. Kent Fire and Rescue Service contributed 10,000 [pounds sterling] towards the system in the hope of encouraging more housing companies to follow the example set by mhs homes.

ACO Bill Welsh said: "We were delighted to work with mhs homes on this project. Sprinkler systems extinguish fires in the early stages and can reduce the risk of injury or death. We are keen that more new buildings are fitted with them, especially community housing or premises where people might be at a greater risk from fire. mhs homes is leading by example by fitting sprinkler systems in its properties and we hope that many other organisations will follow. …
