Shaping the future: chiefs vow to give service direction.(CFOA)

At the recent Chief Fire Officers annual conference and AGM, FIRE met with the presidential team to discuss their strategy for delivering change in the Service. The team were keen to express their dedication to delivering a modern, efficient and effective Fire and Rescue Service arguing that the association will be playing a key role in driving the change agenda.

IN ITS VISION DOCUMENT, Shaping up to Meet the Challenge-Strategy for Renewal and Partnership, CFOA have laid out its vision for the Service ensuring the association is 'fit for purpose' and able to meet the 'expectations and aspirations' of government, stakeholders and the membership.

In his conference address incoming President Tom Carroll told members: "The reform and restructure of CFOA will allow us to become more reactive to change and more focussed on issues which directly affect the way the association supports is members and the safety agenda. The recent proposal to make the association more inclusive means that the support and development of the managers and leaders of the future can begin much sooner and continue throughout their career. …
