Intruders target fire station.

At 1240 on April 11, two male intruders were caught stealing technical and rescue equipment from Burslem Fire Station, Staffordshire, after having broken into the station by forcing the front doors.

An on-duty firefighter entered the watch office to discover one male intruder going through a set of drawers. The firefighter was assaulted by the male intruder who then called out to a second male intruder, before fleeing out of the station. The firefighter alerted other on-duty firefighters, who were in a separate part of the station and the police were called.

A large quantity of vital equipment had been removed from the fire station by the intruders, such as heavy duty cutting and rescue equipment, a PDA and a set of vehicle keys. …
