Berkshire upgrades security.(Buyers Guide)

Increasingly a preferred choice of the emergency services, the SOLICARD 6000 electronic access control system is now being used by Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. They needed to increase the effectiveness of their access control procedures at both their Reading headquarters and the 20 fire stations located throughout the county.

Installed by ASSA-approved Smiths Security Services in Reading, the SOLICARD 6000 system is being used to restrict access to around 700 authorised personnel and 300 approved visitors/contractors throughout the station network. The 30 control units installed are modern-linked and use Magstripe card technology. Approximately 80 card readers are currently in use. …
