At the car wash!(Cover Story)

The nation's cars are now clean, and the Fund now hope to clean up, in what will undoubtedly be the charity's largest singular fundraising event of the year. The Fund arranged a national car wash day on Saturday 2nd October, and encouraged the UK's 2,200 fire stations to take part and raise money for their charity. Whilst individual car washes are a regular fundraising activity, this event was the first time that such an initiative has been undertaken at a national level. The scale of the event facilitated a nationwide promotional and PR campaign. Months of hard work were put in by Fund staff and volunteers alike, to guarantee the maximum possible number of fire stations participated on the day, and that the public turned out in force. …
