This year's New Zealand Trek--which took place from the 15th to 27th October--was a resounding success, raising over 100,000 [pounds sterling] for the Fund and providing the sixty-four participants with an experience of a lifetime. The Trek was certainly arduous, with challenges including 120k cycle rides.

Participants also explored the hidden valleys, braided rivers and magnificent glaciers of what is widely acknowledged to be a spectacular country to visit. Unlike many other charities who organise treks, the Fund's treks allow everybody to sleep under canvas at night, which helps to create an authentic experience and encourages the group to bond. The charity's Fundraising Development Officer, Barbara Davino, commented: "We were overwhelmed with the response to this trek, and the success of the event was down to such a large number of people taking part, and working so hard to fundraise prior to setting off. …
