Tribute to fallen firefighters.(News)

Over 300 people from across the UK attended the Firefighters Memorial Charitable Trust Service of Remembrance.

Thirty wreaths were laid at the National Memorial opposite St Paul's Cathedral to remember those who lost their lives in fires. Representatives from government and fire and rescue services across the UK, as well as retired firefighters and relatives of people who died as a result of fire, took part in the service on September 12. Also attending were the Commissioner of London Fire Brigade Ken Knight, and Chair of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, Val Shawcross. In addition, the event included a parade of mass standards from all UK fire brigades, as well as the combined bands of Devon Fire and Rescue Service and Tyne and Wear Fire Brigade. …
