Major investments in Norfolk safety take to the road.(Fire 2004)

Nine new state of-the-art rescue pumps have been officially handed over to Norfolk Fire Service enhancing the service's rescue capabilities.

The Scania appliances, which represent the latest phase in an ongoing replacement programme for Norfolk County Council's fire service, were brought together at County Hall in Norwich for the official hand-over before being deployed across the county.

After the event the appliances headed off for Thetford, Sprowston, Great Yarmouth, Fakenham, Swaffham, Statham, Dereham, Attleborough and Downham Market where they will be stationed.

After all training is completed. predicted to be by end of the summer, Norfolk will have 12 rescue pumps on the run and it is doped there will be 20 across the county next year. …
