Deputy Firemaster Geoff Williams QFSM CIETecRI, ChFI, MIFireE, Central Scotland Fire Brigade, UK, has 30 years operational experience in three brigades in all ranks up to his present position of Deputy Firemaster of Central Scotland Fire Brigade.

During his service he has been involved in numerous incidents where structures have partially or totally collapsed both as a result of fire and other natural and unnatural causes, both nationally within the UK and internationally.

His management developments within the USAR field were recognised in 1992, when he was awarded the Winston Churchill Fellowship. A member of the IFE he was awarded a Distinction, the Ramsey Award and Godiva Award for the highest pass marks internationally.

He designed the International Executive Command Level Critical Crisis Tool for Urban Search and Rescue Operations. …
