Integrated risk management planning: a collaborative approach.(Risk Management)

It has been just over a year since the HM Fire Inspectorate issued its first guidance note on how fire and rescue authorities in England and Wales should approach the production of integrated regional management plans (IRMPs) for each fire and rescue service. It is now an appropriate time to reflect on how well a collaborative approach in the North-East region worked throughout this process

A North East (Fire) Strategic Partnership Board (NESPB) had been established to identify and develop opportunities for collaboration in areas of common interest, with the aim of greater efficiencies and closer working arrangements across the fourth North East fire services: Cleveland, County Durham and Darlington, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear.
