New dimensions protocol enacted in rescue response.(News)

A massive explosion in a plastics factory in Glasgow's West End caused the building to collapse on May 11th, trapping several workers inside. The blast claimed nine lives and injured around 40 more. The explosion is believed to have been caused by an industrial gas oven, although a full investigation is underway.

Following New Dimensions protocols, Strathclyde Fire Brigade's rescue teams were aided by USAR teams from England and Wales such as the North East Region. This was the first time that the protocols had been put into operational use. …
