Conspiracy or Cock-Up?(Black Watch)

So-called 'C'words are a sound basis for understanding any truly political scene.

They vary from state to state. 'Concupiscence' and 'Corruption' are redolent of banana republics. Also parts of our European Union scene, especially certain founder nations too often self-righteously use another 'C'--'Communitaire'.

In Britain we tend towards the twin terms 'Conspiracy' and 'Cock-Up'. Our problem however, often lies in defining which is which.

Some suspect that every move made by government is founded in cunning, usually to secure more private power for the civil service. Sometimes they are right but not always.

The distinction is important because upon it rests what action the aggrieved should take either in defence or attack. …
