Where can you find around 70,000 books and videos, holdings of over 700 journals and an unrivalled collection of e-databases all dedicated to the fields of fire and disaster management? The Fire Service College Library & Information Resource Centre (LIRC) is the largest of its kind in Europe and provides members of the UK Fire Service, as well as delegates on site, with a unique educational resource service.

Opened in 1988 by the Duchess of Gloucester, the LIRC has evolved from a traditional print-based library to a multi-media collection of resources to support the development and learning process.
