* In a short and concise article Mr B E Miles, MC, the Chief Officer of the London Salvage Corps illustrates the support the Salvage Corps can provide to the Local Authority Fire Brigade. Mr Miles particularly criticises outer London councils and chief officers who do not, in his opinion, appreciate the Salvage Corps sufficiently.

* London Fire Brigade has taken delivery of a new rescue tender. One of its main features being extensive portable lighting equipment. The vehicle is a Dennis with pneumatic tyres and capable of speeds in excess of 40mph. From a gear box a power drive is taken to a 3.skw dynamo mounted in a special compartment under the crew seat. Three electrical cables are provided to permit portable lamps to be moved around the fire ground. …
