EU launches Industry Liaison Group.

March 16 saw the European Parliament launch a Fire Safety and Security Industry Liaison Group, which will aim to tackle administrative barriers to better the safety and security equipment in the EU and improve dialogue between the industry, emergency services and decision makers in Brussels.

It brought together a cross party group of MEPs, senior industry leaders and representatives of the European Commission's Directorates-General for Internal Market and Enterprise. Fire chiefs from a number of European cities--Berlin, Brussels, London, Birmingham, Cambridge and Skiem (Norway)--were present.
