* In the early hours of January 21, 1954 firemen from Falmouth, Redruth and Truro prevented serious fire damage aboard the Norwegian motor vessel Brattland. At the time the vessel was in dry dock at Falmouth. the fire was commanded by CFO B A Christmas. Breathing apparatus was used due to dense smokelogging between decks

* From early 1939 the fire station at Loddon (Norfolk) has been unused. The Parish Council wishes tO collect rates from its owner, but does not know who or where the owner may be found. The Insurance Company who built the station 100 years ago and the County Fire Brigade has neither documents or other proof of ownership. …
