* Claimed as their first female retained firefighter, the village of Pill in Avon looked forward to welcoming Marylyn Ackerman, although it was reported that two male retained members resigned. * Humberside illustrated their new rescue tender, CKH964T, which had been fitted out by Anglo Coachbuilders. It would carry a crew of six, based at Goole, to protect the M 18 and the M62.
