Future dimensions for "safe water working": future dimensions for water rescue techniques, working practices and developing the use of new equipment is hugely exciting, this is what's promised by the next Watersafe.(Workshops And Conference Preview)

The intention is to build on the tremendously successful work of the Water Working Group Chaired by Denys Rama and Keith Ring of HMFSI. Mr Rama's visions for developing new working techniques and HMCIFS Sir Graham Meldrum's insight into the future for the new wider role of the firefighter espoused at last year's event (see FIRE July 2003) will be given impetus at 'Watersafe 2004'.

Access to this new era is a collaborative project: with FIRE, CACFOA, HMFSI, British Water ways, Rescue 3 (UK) and many others supporting and facilitating the arrangements to be at Tees Barrage, Stockton on Tees, Cleveland on June 22-24, 2004 The very wide range of facilities at the barrage encompass conference facilities, wet and dry changing facilities, classrooms, marquee exhibition rooms, pontoons, slipways, controlled swift water river; navigation lock(s), tidal swept areas, river and lake conditions for rescue vessel work outs. Nearby hotel accommodation is provided at the heart of the Teesside conurbation regeneration. …
