Strathclyde Fire Brigade recently hosted a fire safety in schools seminar at their brigade headquarters in Hamilton to highlight the problem of deliberate fire raising within educational establishments. The day was well attended by over 150 delegates who heard about fire suppression, security and fire behaviour, Former DFmr David Kennedy opened the seminar by outlining the scale of the problem of deliberate fire raising in schools both nationally and locally and emphasised that the problem was particularly acute in Scotland compared with the rest of the UK. …
