Extra funding for service.(News)

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister recently announced that 11 fire and rescue services in England, and two in Wales, are to benefit from and extra 4.5m [pounds sterling] over three years to help them target those most at risk from fires in the home.

Subject to approval by Parliament, the funding--of which 900,000 [pounds sterling] will be made available this year--comes from the 43m [pounds sterling] three year investment announced in the White Paper for community fire safety and arson reduction programmes in England and Wales.

The Community Fire Safety Innovation Fund will focus resources on the most vulnerable people in society living in the 11 areas most at risk from fire. …
