The Fireworks Bill passed through its second reading recently, with much support. The Bill grants powers to enable fireworks regulations to be made, and the grounds on which they could be made The Bill would ban sales of fireworks to minors, with the existing minimum age of 18 to be retained. It would also limit the times at which fireworks can be sold or used, with a possible post 11pm curfew.

The sale of certain fireworks would be limited to those trained, experienced or insured as appropriate. …
