The Government is to introduce measures to reduce the incidences of abandoned cars and tackle car crime with offenders facing minimum fines of 1,000 [pounds sterling] for failure to comply. The measures are aimed at those who do not insure or tax their car and to trace people who abandon their vehicles, which should result in a reduction in the occurrence of arson in vehicles.
