It is a great credit to all the players and staff involved within Rugby Union section, both at brigade and at international level, in these uncertain times within the Fire Service, the Rugby Union Section could still manage to fulfil both the National Cup Competition and its international and inter-Service fixtures. This speaks volumes for all players and staff involved within the Rugby Union Section.

October 9, 2002 saw the first fixture of the season played at Shelford RFC, Cambridgeshire, hosted by CFO Tom Carroll, Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service. Shelford RFC provided the section with superb facilities for this clash of the rugby giants. …
