JPMorgan Chase and Company is a financial holding company incorporated under Delaware law in 1968. The company is a leader in investment banking, financial services for consumers and businesses, financial transaction processing and asset management. Under the J.P. Morgan and Chase brands, the company serves millions of customers in more than 70 countries. JPMorgan Chase's principal bank subsidiaries are JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association and Chase Bank USA, NA. JPMorgan Chase's principal non-bank subsidiary is J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc. The Retail Financial Services segment serves consumers and businesses through personal service at bank branches, ATMs, online banking, telephone banking, auto dealerships and school financial aid offices. The Card Services segment is one of the nation's largest credit card issuers with more than 168 million cards in circulation. The Commercial Banking segment serves more than 26,000 clients nationally. The Treasury and Securities Services segment is a global leader in transaction, investment and information services. The Asset Management segment offers global investment management in equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds, private equity and liquidity. On May 30, 2008, JPMorgan Chase merged with The Bear Stearns Companies Inc. On September 25, 2008, JPMorgan Chase acquired the banking operations of Washington Mutual.
