China to Import 433mn Tons Iron Ores in 08

BEIJING, Apr 17, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China is to import about 433 million tons of iron ores in 2008, rising 13% or about 50 million tons from a year earlier. It was forecast by Luo Bingsheng, vice chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

In the first quarter of 2008, the country imported 110 million tons of iron ores, valued at USD 14.132 billion, respectively hiking 10.5% and 99.5%.
