LIBYA - May 28 - Tripoli Offers $2.7 Bn To Lockerbie Families.(Brief Article)

Tripoli agrees in principle to pay as much as $2.7 bn to the families of the victims of the 1988 Pan Am 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, according to lawyers for the families. (The deal, the largest of its kind ever negotiated, would link the payment to the families to a series of US government concessions to Tripoli, including the lifting of commercial sanctions and an end to Tripoli's designation as a state sponsor of terror.
