Zimbabwe concerned over S. Africa's intention to ban asbestos products

HARARE, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Zimbabwe National Chrysotile Taskforce (ZNCTF) on Friday expressed concern over South Africa's intention to ban the use of asbestos in a development that will have devastating effects on Zimbabwe's asbestos industry and the broader economy.

South Africa gazetted regulations, at the beginning of this month, that form part of the environmental affairs and tourism department's efforts to prohibit the production, import and export of asbestos.
