30 The machine tool industry in India has witnessed close to 30% growth annually over the last two years, said ARC Advisory Group. Machine tools are metal cutting and metal forming tools. Together with robotics and handling systems, they work mostly in India's automotive production arena. There is a large gap in the country's ability to produce machines and the number industry needs. Opportunities exist for automation suppliers in PLCs, AC drives, and HMIs to close this gap.
