I WAS IN a coffee shop the other week when the woman in front of me bought her 3-year-old son two brownies, a box of chocolate milk and a cookie. He ran around the place three times before slamming into a table.

How is this not abuse?

What is the difference between shoveling fat-filled, sugar-laced, artery-clogging junk into obese-bound kids and handing them a cigarette? Physical or emotional mistreatment of children is abuse, according to Princeton University studies. The vagueness, I suppose, is how to define "mistreatment."
