American Red Cross's Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Blood Services Region needs volunteers to help staff blood drives throughout Maryland. Volunteers provide customer service to donors and help in the refreshment area. A commitment of two or more blood drives (lasting four to six hours each) a month is required, and volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Drives are held in Baltimore and in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties. Training is provided. Call 800-272-0094, Ext. 1, or e-mail karlofft@usa.redcross.org.
