658-acre resort proposed: Spanish Castle development shows 1,140 housing units, retail space and 100-room hotel.

A 1,140-unit development is in the works north of Crescent Bar on Spanish Castle Road about 20 minutes outside of East Wenatchee on Highway 28.

Right now the area is marked by an abandoned feed lot on the west side of the highway. In the next couple of years, though, it could become the recreation destination for Douglas County.

Spanish Castle LLC bought 658 acres of land last November and the Entezar Group of Eastern Washington LLC, based in Quincy, filed an application for a 1,140-unit master planned resort in April of this year.

Representatives for The Entezar Group, headquartered in Bellevue, were not available for comment for this story. …
