WiMAX coverage has been introduced to 16 cities in the Patagonia region of Argentina by Ertach, a broadband access solutions provider.

The WiMAX node has been deployed in Tierra del Fuego province, in the city of Rio Grande, completing the initial phase of the company's rollout. This is reportedly the first multi-city WiMAX network in Latin America.
