For 31 years, the Liquor Depot on Washington Avenue S. in downtown Minneapolis has been a drinker's paradise.
Its metal shelves are lined with just about every category of booze imaginable - from Russian vodka flavored with honey to coconut rum from Barbados and more than 50 tequilas. At 15,500 square feet, the Liquor Depot is about three times the size of the average liquor store.
Among its regular customers through the years was the late Twins slugger Kirby Puckett, who would show up on occasion to buy a bottle of Grey Goose vodka. Puckett's No. 34 is painted on the building's facade.
