Whether you believe disaster is imminent or that the whole Y2K issue has been blown out of proportion, a little planning in the food department never hurts.
Many an unexpected blizzard, tornado, flood or power outage has shown that it doesn't take a Y2K bug to create food safety and supply problems.
To be prepared for such emergencies, keep a three-day supply of food and water on hand. A well-stocked pantry is a good start. Store foods you like and normally eat. A crisis is not the time to learn to eat new foods.
