Argentine airline strike ends.
Buenos Aires, Dec 2, 2005 (EFE via COMTEX) -- Aerolineas Argentinas pilots and technicians reached an agreement with the company Friday to end a strike begun more than a week ago, authorities said.
Juan Pappalardo, who heads one of the unions involved in the dispute, said the key to ending the strike was the intervention of "a new mediator" - an allusion to Gerardo Diaz, a main shareholder of the Marsans group that controls the airline.
Minutes after his announcement, representatives of the Airline Pilots' Association said they had also accepted the agreement.
