THE annual IMO conference focused on increased maritime security in order to help prevent and fight terrorism, with anti-terrorist experts worldwide sharing the opinion that terrorists would increase the frequency of their attacks on oil tankers, container ships and other freight vessels.

The prediction was based on reports of the increasing number of reckless attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Malacca.
