India says Pakistan should do more to fight terrorism.

India urged Pakistan on Thursday to do more to live up to its words and intent of fighting terrorism, calling the steps taken by the Pakistani government against militant organizations a welcome step in the right direction.

''But more steps need to be taken. Pakistan is to be forthcoming with much more purposeful declaration to fight terrorism,'' India's foreign minister Jaswant Singh told reporters, echoing a statement Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee made earlier in the day.
