JEFFERSON CITY - Standing naked next to a 14-year-old girl in bed is not a crime, defense lawyer Robert Haar told jurors on Friday who held the legal fate of a former St. Louis-area lawmaker in their hands.
The jury agreed.
Former state Rep. Scott Muschany was acquitted of both counts against him, one for sexual assault and another for sexual misconduct. The Huntleigh man had maintained he never touched the girl. Muschany, 42, walked out of the courtroom arm in arm with his wife and refused to answer questions from reporters.
