Reach Our Children is a national charity that took in more than $4.8 million in cash contributions in 2004. The organization has supported a variety of programs for children, especially aiding children with cancer.
A KEY POTENTIAL CONFLICT
Board members say David J. Lovell never revealed that his wife co-owned a marketing company to which the charity paid $3 million.

The founder and president of a Kirkwood-based children's charity has resigned after members of the charity's board said they learned he had been concealing potential conflict-of-interest information from them.
David J. Lovell, who built Reach Our Children into a national charity that took in more than $4.8 million in cash contributions in 2004, agreed to leave the charity in the midst of two investigations -- one by lawyers hired by the charity's board and the other by the Missouri attorney general's office.
