Eltron Continuing FutureGen Research.

As part of FutureGen pollution-free power plant of tomorrow program, the DOE will cost share a project with Eltron Research (Boulder, CO) to further develop membrane-based coal-to-hydrogen production. Based in part on Eltron-patented materials, the membrane technology is essential to the coal-fired FutureGen plant because hydrogen derived from the process can be used to fuel future hydrogen turbines and fuel cells, while simultaneously separating CO2 from the plants gas stream.

The programs ultimate goal is decreasing the nations reliance on imported fuels and building a zero-emissions energy infrastructure. DOEs share of the $15million project is just over $12 …
