Employment rate for high school graduates slightly up.

TOKYO, May 9 Kyodo

The ratio of high school graduates seeking jobs this spring to those who had actually gotten jobs upon graduation in March was 86.7%, up 0.4 percentage point from a record low of 86.3% the year before, according to an education ministry survey released Friday.

However, the survey by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said the ratio of job offers to those graduates seeking jobs at the end of March stood at a record low 1.21-to-1, down 0.05 point.

Meanwhile, a joint survey by the education ministry and the labor ministry said the same index for college graduates as of April 1 stood at 92.8%, up 0.7 point, while that for …
