ALBANY - The lawsuit charges the roofing company employees answered the phone "Thank you for calling Weather Guard Roofing."

Unfortunately, Weather Guard was the competition.

Now, Weather Guard Roofing Co. Inc. of Colonie has filed suit against J. Haas Roofing Inc. of Schenectady, claiming employees from Haas pretended to be associated with Weather Guard while speaking to customers.

`'It was really weird," said Jeffrey Thomas, founder and president of Weather Guard, who said he found out about the calls through customers earlier this year. "We called over there and, sure enough, the woman over there …
